This Privacy Policy explains how Baumeister Private Server, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Baumeister," "we," "us," or "our"), handles information in connection with the Baumeister Private Server self-hosted software and any optional hardware kit (together, the "Software"). It applies only to the self-hosted Software. A separate Privacy Policy governs Baumeister's hosted website-building and hosting service, where the roles described below are different. This Policy is incorporated into the End User License Agreement for the Software.
The Software runs on your own device. The site you build, and the data your site collects from its visitors, live on your device, not on Baumeister systems. The Software does not send Baumeister telemetry about how you use it. As a result, most information stays with you, and Baumeister collects only the limited information described in Section 2.
Free use with your own AI key. If you use the Software without a paid feature and connect your own AI provider key, Baumeister does not require an account and does not collect your site content. The Software may check for updates, which involves a network request that includes basic technical information such as the Software version.
Account and billing. If you subscribe to Assistant Pro or buy a hardware kit, we collect the information needed to create your account and process payment, such as your email address and billing details. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., and we do not store full payment card numbers.
Assistant Pro content. If you use Assistant Pro, the instructions and related content you submit to the AI are transmitted through Baumeister to our AI provider so it can return output to you. We use this content only to provide the feature. Our provider's handling of that content is governed by the provider's terms.
Support. If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and the contents of your message.
When your site collects personal information from its visitors, such as contact form submissions, messages, order and transaction records, and any files or documents stored through the Software, that information is written to and stored on your device. Baumeister does not collect it as telemetry and, except as described in the next sentence, does not receive, host, or access it. If you use an AI feature of the Software to process content, that content may include personal data your site has collected, and it may be transmitted to the applicable AI provider to perform the task you request. As between you and Baumeister, you are the controller of that information, and you are responsible for handling it in compliance with applicable law, including giving your visitors your own privacy notice and answering their requests to exercise their rights.
The Software works with third-party AI providers. When you supply your own provider key, your content goes from your device directly to the provider you selected, under that provider's terms, and Baumeister does not receive it. When you use Assistant Pro, your content is transmitted through Baumeister to our provider, Anthropic, PBC, whose commercial terms provide that it does not use inputs or outputs to train its models. Each provider's own privacy terms govern its handling of the content it receives.
When you publish your site, the Software makes it reachable through a Cloudflare Tunnel. Visitor traffic to your site passes through Cloudflare, Inc. in transit before it reaches your device. Baumeister does not store that traffic. Because your visitors' data passes through Cloudflare on the way to you, you should describe this in the privacy notice you give your visitors.
We use the limited information we collect to deliver and secure the Software and its updates, to provide Assistant Pro and process payments, to respond to your support requests, to detect and prevent fraud and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share the limited information we hold only with vendors that help us operate, namely Stripe for payment processing and, for Assistant Pro, our AI provider; when required by law or legal process; and in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
We retain account and billing information for as long as needed to provide paid features and to meet legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations, then delete or de-identify it. We do not retain the data your site collects from its visitors, because that data stays on your device and we never hold it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of the personal information Baumeister holds about you, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information. To exercise a right regarding information Baumeister holds, contact us at info@baumeisterprivateserver.com, and we will respond as applicable law requires. For the data your site collects from its visitors, Baumeister does not hold that data and cannot act on it, so your visitors should direct their requests to you as the controller.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Because your site and its data reside on your device, you are responsible for securing your device and that data, including through access controls, encryption, and backups.
The Software is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have done so, we will delete it.
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy with a new "Last updated" date, and for material changes we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Software after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
